Overview

Training programs play a vital role in enhancing skills, fostering growth, and driving success. With Talexio’s clean and easy-to-use training management software, you can strengthen the skills and competencies that your team needs to improve or further develop.

In this article, you will learn how to create the training courses your employees will attend both in bulk and individually in the system directly.

Course
A Course is a series of sessions to teach the skills and knowledge required for a position.
Session
A Session is an instance of training which, in Talexio, may be Instructor-led or Self-paced.

Permissions

Employees will need the permission Manage Courses view, add, edit, and delete courses which is required to be on a global level. More information on permissions for the Training Module can be found here.

Creating Course Categories

Courses in Talexio will be grouped into categories to make it easier to locate the courses and manage them. To create a Course Category:

  1. From the Training module, click on the Course Categories tab and then click on + Add Category

  2. In the box that appears, add the Course Category Name that you would like to add and then click Add Category.

  3. Your new Course Category will now be shown in the list of Course Categories.

Course Categories do not have a dedicated bulk upload template but can be created in bulk through the process of creating courses in bulk.

Creating a Course

Courses can be created in bulk and directly in the system individually. The below highlights how that can be done:

Intructor-led & Self-paced sessions

When creating a course, you will need to add the sessions that make up the Course Structure. You can use Intructor-led & Self-paced sessions to create your course.

Intructor-led sessions

Instructor-led sessions are sessions that will be held either in person or online in a classroom style environment. The tutors for these may be internal or external tutors and would be specified when scheduling the session.

Self-paced sessions

Self-paced sessions are sessions where the employee will guide themselves though provided material content added to the session. Self-paced content can be built from:

  • Slides
  • Videos
  • Quizzes

The below outlines how self-paced sessions can be created:

Slide and Video content needs to be created outside of Talexio and then will be uploaded to Talexio in the session creation.
Slides will need to be saved as .pdf file format.
Video links from YouTube will show a preview and be shown in Talexio directly, however other links to videos, such as drive links, will be viewed in a separate window.

Quizzes

Quizzes can be created as assessments where a single, final score is obtained, or used to reinforce learning by allowing employees to retake quizzes until they achieve 100%. This can be setup in the Quiz Settings along with allowing the employee to see their scores.

The questions are added as either single or multiple choice answers where you will specify which of the answers to the questions are the correct answers.
