Overview

In Talexio, Team Voice surveys are anonymous by default to encourage users to be more truthful. To keep data anonymous, Talexio Team Voice also has an Anonymity Threshold within the Team Voice survey settings. This article explains what the Anonymity Threshold is and how it works.

What is the Anonymity Threshold?

The anonymity threshold mechanism ensures that no responses are identifiable by only showing results if there are at least 3 observations within a filtered view. Groups with fewer respondents than the anonymity threshold are moved to a new category that consists of all the ones that did not meet the anonymity threshold. If this group itself does not meet the threshold, it is excluded from the result set. This is applied on all categorical data except for grouped views by Department.

How does the Anonymity Threshold work?

If a group has fewer than the selected number of responses, their results will be combined with a larger group to protect anonymity.

Case Example

Consider the following responses for 5 surveys with an anonymity threshold of 3:

Group

Survey 1 Responses

Survey 2 Responses

Survey 3 Responses

Survey 4 Responses

Survey 5 Responses

Under 25 3 1 1 0 1
25 - 50 1 1 1 1 3
Over 50 2 3 1 1 3

Resulting survey groupings:

Survey 1 Responses

Survey 2 Responses

Survey 3 Responses

Survey 4 Responses

Survey 5 Responses

Over 50 Under 25 / 25 - 50 / Over 50 No Data- Anonymity threshold not met
