Contents of a Payslip: Totals Column

Overview

Once you have created your payroll, you may open each individual payslip to check out its contents, as well as make any amendments.

Payslip Dialog

The Payslip Dialog is the box that is shown in the payroll module that contains all the details of the payslip. This is also where changes are made to the details.

Payslip PDF

The Payslip PDF is the Payslip document itself that would be generated from Talexio and is visible from the Payslip Dialog.

Permissions

To view an employees payslip in the Payroll module, you will need the Manage Payroll permission or the View Payroll permission.

Totals Column

The Totals Column in the payslip dialog box displays the cumulative monetary results of the Basic & Deductions, Adjustments, Overtime & Extra Hours and Leave Payoffs. 

Some calculations of the amounts in the Totals column are made visible when you click on the Payslip Workings button. These can include:

  • Total Payslip Basic Hours
  • Basic Hours
  • Social Security (NI) 
  • Maternity Fund
  • Employee Tax

Pending Calculation

You might notice that whenever you add/amend something in a payslip, a small box with the words Pending Calculation will appear above the totals column.

Whenever this happens, you will need to click on the calculate button on the bottom right hand corner of your screen to update the payslip. When you are done, click Lock to lock the payslip.

Locked payslips can be unlocked if needed, but we do not recommend unlocking a lock payslip that has already been paid to an employee. Any corrections should be made in the following payslip.
