Overview

Within an employee's profile is the Employment tab where all the positions and their different details are reflected. There are many details within the position of an employee, so these can be seen within the position itself, or on the history page making use of the editable columns.

Permissions

You need to ensure that you have the Manage Employment Position History permission and either View All Employee Data or Manage All Employee Data permission set to the employee/s whose position you need to change. For more information on permissions, click here.

Viewing an Employee's Position History

To access an Employee's Position History, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. From the People section, or from the search bar at the top of the page, click on the employee's name.

  2. From the Employee Dashboard, click on the Employment tab.

From this page, you can add a new position or edit an existing position. You can also view the details of the positions of the employee.

Position History Columns

On the page, the system will show the default columns; Position, Country, Job schedule, Business unit, Unit, Sub-unit, Eligible overtime, Gross salary (+benefits), Payroll frequency, Start date, End date.

The Columns button allows you to add more fields to the view and remove details you do not wish to see. Click the Columns button and deselect those you do not want to see and from the dropdown select the fields you wish to view.

Once these have been applied, the view of the employment history will be updated.

To restore the defaults, click the Columns button and select the Reset to Default button.

Viewing the Salary, Benefits and Perks

By default, the system hides the employee salary, even when you have the permissions to view the details. This is a confidentiality measure within the system. To view the salary information, you can click the Show Salary button.

You can click the same button, now labelled Hide Salary, to hide the information again.

To view a breakdown of the Benefits, Perks and Salary, click on the 3 dots next to the + Add Position button and select View Benefits, Perks & Salary.
