When the employee changes to a Married Tax status and is not the responsible spouse, the employee is to be issued with two payslips within the month that the marriage took place, and should be provided with two FS3 forms at the end of the year.
IMP: In Talexio, in order to change marital status, there is no need to create another employee record.
To update Marital Status of an employee:
- Go to the relevant employee’s profile
- Click on the Details tab
- Go to the Payroll pod and select “Married” in the Marital Status field
- If the checkbox “Is employee the responsible spouse?” remains unticked (that is, employee is NOT the responsible spouse), the spouse ID Card Number and Date of Marriage are required.
When payroll is calculated for the month of marriage, you will automatically see that two payslips are generated for the same employee for that month:
- The first will include salary proportionately up until the date of marriage added in the employee Details.
- The second will include salary proportionately from a day after the date of marriage until the end of that payroll period
Two FS3 forms will be generated at the end of the year showing the same information.
Note: If the employee already exists in the payroll for the month of marriage, remove the employee and re-add them to that month’s payroll.
