Employees working on a night shift might find themselves working across two days if their shift spills beyond 00:00.
In such cases, after the employee's clockings are approved, such employee will be paid based on the basic and overtime rates defined in the position history.
Therefore if an employee's rate for Saturdays is set to 150%, and such employee starts their shift on Friday at 8pm and clocks out on Saturday at 4am, the employee's payroll will automatically be worked out as 4 hours at the standard 100% rate and 4 hours at the 150% Saturday rate. The same applies for any overtime worked.
In cases where the unpaid break duration for such shifts falls over two days, this can be deducted from a specific portion of the relevant day.
