Creating the Organisation Chart
One of the first things that needs to be set up on Talexio HR is your company's organisation structure.
An organisation structure is a list of a company's departments (referred to in this article as Units).
To add a Unit/Department, click on +Add New Unit.
Here, you will be asked to input the name of the Unit/Department, a description (this is optional), and in the case of the department being a Sub-Department of another Department you will need to put in the Parent Department.
If the Unit/Department is a Business Unit, then you will need to switch on the Business Unit toggle.
If the Unit/Department is set as a Priority Department, this will show in different reports in the system to show this as the Main Department/Unit all sub-units belong to. This is shown on the Organisational Structure with a Flag.
After units are set up, you may set up the position titles, job schedules, any benefits and then begin to add employees to Talexio HR.
NOTE: Units may also be set up in bulk using the Onboarding Assistant.
What is a Business Unit?
A business unit is defined as a Company or Department with a separate PE number, and therefore has it's own payroll. A Business Unit can be distinguished from other Units by its darker shade of blue.
When a new Business Unit is created, there are some settings that will need to be set up for this Business Unit.
Completing Payroll with Multiple Business Units?
When computing payroll, the different Business Units that have been created may be selected via the drop down menu in the payroll section.
Completing Payroll for Business Units is done in the same manner as done on the Root Company. This article explains how.
Filters on the Organisation Chart
By default, the Organisation tab will show you any Units/Departments that include employees. Once you have selected the filter you need, this will be same filter applied for the next time you visit the Organisation tab.
