Overview
In the Performance Management module, objectives refer to a set target that can be used as a standalone assessment for employees/departments or be used in conjunction with Performance Reviews. These Objectives can also be referred to as Performance Targets, KPIs or Goals. This article provides a guide on how objective can be created and assigned to performance reviews.

Creating Objectives
Objectives are created in the Objectives tab in the Performance Management Module.
To create objectives, follow the 6 steps shown below:
-
1. Add Objective
From the Objective tab, click on ADD OBJECTIVE
-
2. Fill objective settings
-
Objective Level
- Individual - If the objective is to be targeted to a specific user(s), then their name(s) needs to be selected under the Assignee field.
- Department - If the objective is to be assigned to a department, then you will need to select the relevant department.
- Company - Choosing this would assign the objective to the company.
Objectives set to the Department or Company are not attached to employees. This means that the objectives created and assigned to these levels must be managed accordingly.
- Target date
- Mark this objective as completed - Choosing this will close off the objective due to its completion.
- Place this objective in archives - Choosing this option will mark the objective as one which is not currently being used for review purposes.

After carefully inserting the required details, you are able to save that information by simply clicking on SAVE OBJECTIVE.
Cloning Objectives
There are cases where objectives are very similar but differ slightly. Instead of creating a new objective from scratch, you can use the "Clone Objective" feature to recreate an existing one.
To clone an existing objective, what you will need to do is click on the edit button next to the objective:
Once the objective has been cloned, you will need to fill in the following details:
-
Determine the Objective Level: Choose whether the objective is at the Company, Department, or Individual level
-
Specify the Assignee or Department: If the level is Department or Individual, you'll need to specify the relevant department or assignee:
- Set the Target Date: Enter the target date for the cloned objective
Once all the required details are filled in, click "Clone" to create the new objective.
Archiving Objectives
Objectives can be amended, archived, or deleted using the appropriate buttons next to the objective.
Archived objectives can be found by expanding the filters and seleting Archive View from the dropdown:
