Overview

Calculating your company's payroll can be quite cumbersome if you need to add a lot of data each time. Thankfully, using Talexio's bulk edit function, you may import data quickly and easily!

Permissions

You need to ensure that you have the Manage payroll permission to make use of this function.

So how do I use the bulk edit function?

You will need to go to the Payroll section. Here, click on edit -> bulk edit. Please note that the payroll needs to be unlocked in order to access this function. You may unlock the payroll by clicking on the unlock button on the right.

Now what?

You will see 3 different tabs here:

  • Calculations;
  • Adjustments;
  • Overtime & extra hours.

Calculations

Here, you can edit data such as basic hours, basic amount and tax in bulk by unticking the auto tickboxes.

You may also make use of the bulk upload function. Here, you can download a spreadsheet template which needs to be filled in and reuploaded here.

Adjustments

Here, you can edit pre-existing adjustments or upload a template with new (possibly one-off) adjustments.

Press save to enable any changes. These will then be reflected in the payslips.

Uploading Templates

The bulk edit payroll function allows you to upload items in bulk. Each section within this function (Calculations, Adjustments, and Overtime & Extra hours) has it's own bulk upload button with its own template:

After downloading the template you require, you will need to open this file and fill in the necessary details:

You will notice additional tabs at the bottom of the sheet with lists such as employee codes. This will make it easier to identify which employees you are adding hours/adjustments to:

After inputting the necessary data, save the file and then upload it through the bulk edit function.

Uploading Employees not yet in the payroll

What if you created a payroll and added 5 employees to it, but then wanted to add further employees through the bulk upload function?

Well, you can do so just the same. Once you upload the file, a warning will pop up asking you to confirm whether you want to add employees not currently in the payroll. If you agree, click yes. Then save.
