Overview
Talexio allows you to upload the raw clocking data from devices provided and also from your own device exports. There is also an option to upload Time Logs into Talexio for approval. This article explains the difference between Time Logs and Raw Clockings and how to upload the different options.
Permissions
The permission required to complete a bulk upload is Manage Time Clocking. If assigned on anything other than global, then you will only be able to upload data for those you have permission over.
What is different between Raw Clocking and Time Logs?
Raw Clockings is the data taken directly from a Time & Attendance device. This may be your own device or a device from Talexio. This is the raw transactional data relating to an employee's punching in and out.
Example:
Employee Code | Date | Time | In/Out |
EX001 | 01/10/2022 | 08:00:00 | In |
EX001 | 01/10/2022 | 16:30:00 | Out |
Time Logs are a reflection of the punching on the day for an employee and provide a row showing the punch in and out.
Example:
Employee Code | Date | Time In | Time Out |
EX001 | 01/10/2022 | 08:00:00 | 16:30:00 |
Bulk Upload of Raw Clockings
Talexio allows you to upload the raw clocking data in 2 ways:
- Transposing your data into a template downloadable from Talexio
- Mapping your own export with Talexio
Transposing your data into a template downloadable from Talexio
You can download the Raw Clocking template from the Time Tracking section.
Once the template is completed, you can upload it from the same location and select the relevant headers of the document to upload the data.
Mapping your own export with Talexio
If you have your own clocking device where you can export the clocking data, and that data is stored as either .dat or .xlsx or .xls file, then you can simply click to upload the document without the need of the Talexio template. From the below location, you can simply jump to Step 3 and upload your data.
NOTE: For the data to be uploaded, the first row of the export must contain the headers only. Incorrectly formatted exports will not be able to be uploaded to Talexio.
When uploading the data of raw clockings, you can choose to select the employee code if it is used within the document or the employee ID Card number if that is included in the document. The other columns can be mapped to the relevant columns and headers.
Bulk Upload of Time Logs
Uploading of Time Logs follows the same principles of uploading Raw Clockings. There is a template to be downloaded, completed and uploaded to Talexio.
Once the Raw Clockings or the Time Logs have been uploaded, then you can continue with the process of approving the Clockings against the shifts created in the Working Schedule.
