Overview

Talexio allows employees to bank overtime hours as leave instead of receiving payment. This guide covers the global and specific configurations required to enable this feature for your organisation.

Permissions

To configure these settings, you require the Manage Leave Types and Manage Client Settings permissions on Global.

Step 1: Create a Banking Leave Type

It is recommended to create a dedicated Leave Type for banking, as it behaves differently from standard annual leave.

  1. Go to Leave and click on the Leave Types tab.
  2. Create a new Leave Type or edit an existing one.
  3. Toggle Allow Banking to 'On'.
  4. Define the banking limits:
    • Minimum Banking Hours: Set to 0 to prevent negative balances, or a negative value (e.g., -40) to allow employees to "borrow" time.
    • Maximum Banking Hours: The upper limit for accrual. If set to 40, employees cannot bank further hours until they use their balance.

Step 2: Global Client Settings

Define the high-level rules that govern how hours are banked across the system. Navigate to Settings and click on the Client Settings tab.

  • Day-Specific Defaults: Assign default leave types for banking on Public Holidays, Saturdays, Sundays or Standard Days.
  • Monthly Limit: Set the maximum hours an employee can bank per month.
  • Banking Rate: Define the conversion rate for overtime (e.g., 1 hour worked = 1.5 hours banked). If left empty, the employee's position rate is used.
