Overview

The Permissions section in Talexio manages employee access to system components and data. With over 80 permissions across multiple modules, it offers comprehensive control and delegation of functions.

Permissions

Management of the employee permissions are determined by the permissions Manage Permissions and Assign Access Levels. These are automatically assigned to the System Administrator by default upon account creation. More information on these permissions can be found here.

What is a Permission?

A permission grants the right to perform a specific action. Permissions are grouped by functions and modules. After logging into Talexio, click Permissions in the left menu to access them.

There are four sections within Permissions, each pertaining to a distinct aspect of permissions. Additional information on each section can be found by referring to the corresponding article below:

How do Permissions Work?

Permissions may be granted to control the following employee groups or permissions levels:

  • Global - Selecting this means that the permission is granted with full access over anyone within the organisation.

  • Direct Reports - Selecting this will grant the chosen permission over all the direct reports of the employees you assign this permission to.

A Direct Report is an employee who reports to another employee based on reporting lines.

  • Employees - Selecting an employee, or multiple employees, will grant the chosen permission over all the specified employees of the employees.

If you choose Self, the employee can only use the permission over themselves.

  • Units - Selecting a Unit, or multiple Units, will grant the chosen permission over all the employees assigned to the specified units and sub-units of the specified units.

Units are determined according to the structure of your Organisation Chart. You can choose Own Unit from the list, so that the employee can only use the permission over the unit to which they are assigned.

  • Target Groups - Selecting a Target Group, or multiple Target Groups, will grant the chosen permission over all the employees assigned to the specified Target Group.

Assigning permissions over these different permission levels is not assigning the permission to these groups of employees.
For example, setting a permission with Global permission level means the permission is granted over all employees within the organisation, not assigning the permission to all the employees.
