Overview

Permissions determine what you can and cannot see/do on Talexio. It is important to set these up correctly. Click here for detailed instructions on how to set up permissions. Click here for the full list of available permissions. Read on for an explanation on the permissions relating to Time and Attendance. Time and Attendance permissions primarily target what you can see and do in the Time Tracking and Scheduler sections.

Permissions

To set up and manage permissions, you will need the Manage Permissions permission, and this must be set to global.

Time and Attendance Permissions

There are 7 permissions in this section:

  • This allows users to approve the clockings of employees. If this permission is set to global, then users with this permission may approve the clockings of everyone within the company whose time and attendance settings are switched on

Users with this permission will have access to the Time & Attendance section. The number next to this section indicates how many unapproved clockings are pending:

Users with this permission will also have access to view (but not edit) the clockings section. This will include the clockings for which they have permission to approve.

Users with this permission also have access to the Weekly Review. Click here for more information on this.

The below is an example of setting up the Approve Time Clocking permission:

Using the above example, the user has permission to approve the time clockings of the marketing department employees (not including him/herself if s/he is within that department) excluding Max Aarons (who forms a part of the Marketing department). The user also has permission to approve the time clockings of Christine Camilleri (who does not form a part of the Marketing department).

When setting up this permission, you may also set up multiple approvers. For more information on this, click here

  • This allows users to manage the Working Schedule in the Scheduler section. If this permission is set up on global, then users with this permission would be able to manage the Working Schedule for all employees.

This permission allows you to generate, publish, unpublish, copy, and clear shifts for employees. Users may also export reports related to the working schedule.

Please note that in order to create shift templates, you will require the Manage Time and Attendance Settings.

  • This permission allows you to manage the Schedule Generator to set up shifts, create, edit, and delete Shift Templates, create, edit, and delete Work Locations, create, edit, and delete Lateness Penalties, create, edit, and delete Shift Allowances, and set up Working Schedule Needs. Please note that you cannot create shift templates, work locations, lateness penalties, or shift allowances if this permission is not set to global.

With this permission, users will also gain access to the Settings section. While this section includes multiple tabs, having this permission will only allow users to view and manage the Work Codes tab within this section:

Finally, users with this permission will also have access to the Clocking Devices tab within the Time & Attendance section. This is used to view/manage any connected punch clock devices. If you are interested in purchasing a punch clock, please get in touch with us.

  • This allows users to view, manage, upload, and delete time clockings, as well as generate reports on such.

Such users may add manual clockings or amend where a clocking is broken, incorrect, or missing:

Such users may filter by date, employee, department, job schedule, contractors, work location, and clocking status.

  • This allows users to punch in and out on Talexio. For this, the user also needs to have a position, and this position needs to have time and attendance enabled:

This permission needs to be set to self, so that each employee may punch in and out for themselves.

  • This allows users to view (and not edit) the Working Schedule in the Scheduler section. If this permission is set up on global, then users with this permission would be able to view the Working Schedule for all employees.

Users may also export reports related to the working schedule.

  • This allows users view (and not edit) time clockings, as well as generate reports on such.

Such users may filter by date, employee, department, job schedule, contractors, work location, and clocking status. Users cannot add manual clockings.
